What a French Riviera wine tour is
A wine tour on this coast is one of two things. The first takes you to where the wine is
made. You ride an e-bike out of central Nice and up into the hills of Bellet, walk the vines of
an organic family estate, and taste what it grows.
Bellet is the wine appellation inside Nice's own city limits, on the slopes above the city.
The second tour stays in town. You ring the buzzer at 10 Rue Désiré Niel and spend two hours at a
table with eight French wines from across the country, white, red and sparkling. It is a class
in French wine rather than a visit to the local one.

Off Cannes, the Cistercian monks of Saint-Honorat farm their own vines and sell their wine and
liqueurs under the abbey's own label. The abbey's own ferry sails from the old port in about 20 minutes, at
€19.50 return for an adult in 2026. You go on your own; no tour here lands you there.
Back in Nice, the food walks and the sunset boat pour a glass with what they serve. If wine is
one part of your day rather than all of it, one of those may suit you better than a tasting.
